Trend Moodboard

This mood board was created to induce inspiration for the ‘Sweet Temptations’ pastel based theme given to us as part of a first year Trend Project. Produced using Photoshop in a CAD format; this is a refined collation of my initial ideas. As seen here, this board is of a predominately pale blue orientation - due to my preference of the shade and plans to incorporate this within my final garment.

Trend Line Up

After thorough sketchbook work and continuous development of ideas; these are a selection of my final designs for my Trend Project. Initially drawn onto layout paper using Pro-markers and including accurate annotation, I have since scanned them into a digital format and have arranged both front and back views of each design appropriately on Photoshop.

Show Garment Illustration

After reviewing my twenty design ideas, I chose to produce this blue full-circular skirt dress for the second part of our brief; ‘Show Garment Manufacture.’ Illustrated appropriately as part of my final exhibition board – this is the original drawing scanned in, cropped down but un-edited. I did this fashion illustration using a combination of watercolour and pencil, due to my preference of sketch but desire for a professional result due to the nature of the final board.

Show Garment Photography

Edited on Photoshop and executed with professional Canon cameras; these are two examples of the work produced for my photography based ‘Spotlight’ project - which was focused on showing  the end realisation of our Show Garment. Due to my developed taste since this project, I have found that my original photos weren’t appealing to me. Although the photo’s I have selected here aren’t of the highest standard; I feel that they showcase my work more effectively and of more of a high fashion orientation. Plus a sense of humour is essential in such an industry.

Fashion Illustration - Single

An interpretation of one of ‘Kathyrn Elyse’s’ fashion illustration; this example of my work showcases my developed skills regarding wet media, as I produced this using watercolour and fine liner. Informing my first year mixed media project, this is a scanned in piece originally found within my sketchbook.

Fashion illustration - Line up

Also sketchbook examples of my mixed media progress; these are further interpretation pieces informed my artists such as Virginia Fisher, David Downtown and Marcel Fromenti. Created using media such as ink, watercolour, fine liner, chalk, newspaper and tissue paper; since producing these I have scanned them into Photoshop and created a board to show my varied illustration skills during this year one project.

Fashion Illustration - Charcoal

Experimenting with different media as part of my first year fashion illustration project; these drawings show personally developed figures and my illustrated versions of existing garments seen in editorial pictures or on runway shows. Working with charcoal, I was able to develop my knowledge concerning the use of dry media and continued to mix it with others such as chalk.

Sustainable Fashion Moodboard

A photographed version of my paper produced mood board for my first year ‘DIY Fashion’ project; this was based on sustainable fashion and held a theme called ‘The Dark Side’. A2 in size, this is my original attempt at collating my ideas and continued to inspire a thorough sketchbook of research.

Sustainable Fashion Illustration

The final illustration of my sustainable design for ‘DIY Fashion’, this shows a front and back view of what I then progressed to manufacture. A happy accident; this paper illustration scanned in with an unusual effect – something that I have then worked with in Photoshop and purposefully incorporated as part of the outcome. This was initially created using watercolour, ink and fine liner.

Life Drawing

In an attempt to develop my skills further, I created a range of life drawing pieces after a live model was bought into college for this purpose. All examples were initially produced in ink, watercolour, chalk or pencil and ranged from posing in underwear to historical costumes - as seen here. These given examples are unaltered, original drawings produced within my life drawing lessons that I have then scanned in and positioned appropriately on Photoshop.

Lookbook Pages

One of my first given projects in my second year; ‘Fashion Promotion and Styling’ required the production of a promotional package on a chosen brand – including a finished look book, business card, advertisement and swing tag after thorough research into several aspects of promotion and styling.  These are example pages taken from my lookbook, which was based on brand ALLSAINTS, and both front and back views of my swing tag – all of which were produced on Photoshop.

Sketchbook Pages

Scanned in example pages of my most recent sketchbook for my FMP project; these are specially selected to show my range of research and visual interpretations of my thoughts. Having chosen my own theme, ‘Black on Black,’ this entire sketchbook was created independently and shows various methods of research, analysis, visual prompts, design experimentation and sampling. Arranged appropriately onto a page created on Photoshop; I feel these are a good representation of my sketchbook development but are only a brief example of the extent of work I have carried out.

Mixed Media Illustration

This duo of work has been produced after being inspired by designer ‘Elvira ‘T Hart’ during my FMP development. Using watercolour, ink and machine stitch; these pieces are now in support of my current work but do originally stem from my first year mixed media project. Photographed professionally, I have then uploaded them onto the Apple Macs and arranged them on Photoshop.

FMP Moodboard

As part of a CAD project set during the first term of my second year at college, I have created a number of Photoshop generated boards to support my ongoing FMP development. Based on my chosen theme, ‘Black on Black;’ this is my technical mood board.

FMP Illustration Board

The second of my boards produced for my CAD project, this illustration board is also in support of my ongoing FMP project. Incorporating newly created illustrations, as well as previously developed ideas found throughout my sketchbook; this board is a realisation of my visual ideas as an ongoing process. Media used includes watercolour, ink and fine liner – images scanned in and manipulated using Photoshop.

FMP Editorial

A written account on one of my biggest inspirations throughout my FMP project – this editorial is based on Hannah Marshall’s SS10 collection, ‘Encryption.’ Produced as a Photoshop document appropriate for my theme and editorial content; this piece of work is essential to my development due to its aesthetic and academic properties.

FMP Line up

A professional line up of my final three selected designs; this board shows accurate front and back illustrations of how I hope to progress with the second half of this project. Having selected and adjusted these three designs accordingly, I hope to now progress with the realisation of them into three-dimensional professional garments. Media used includes ink, water colour and Photoshop adjustments.
